MyCelx materials are extremely light- Mycelx media will absorb up to 50x its own weight
- Mycelx is hydrophobic – rejects water, does not become weighted with water making it light and easy to retrieve or replace
- MyCelx spill response products are very buoyant and will not sink
- MyCelx is very compact thus enables more containment product to be carried compared with conventional, filter media or booms and mats
- MyCelx will not desorb – once oil product is captured it will not release oil
- MyCelx oil response products may be reused till saturated
- MyCelx products do not require mechanical lifting to install or REMOVE
- MyCelx is made from naturally occurring products and have a very small carbon footprint, from manufacture through transportation to deployment
