MyCelx Clean Water Technology for Produced Water Treatment Receives 2011 OTC Spotlight on New Technology Award
MyCelx Technologies will receive Spotlight on New Technology Award at this year’s Offshore Technology
Conference (OTC) for their Clean Water Technology for Produced Water Treatment. The awards recognize
innovative new products that provide significant impact for offshore exploration and production, and will be presented at 4 p.m. Monday, May 2 at OTC, being held May 2-5, 2011 at Reliant Park in Houston.
As an OTC Spotlight winner, MyCelx Clean Water Technology for Produced Water Treatment had to meet
the judging criteria of: new, innovative, proven, broad interest and significant impact. MyCelx Produced Water system offers offshore drilling platforms failsafe overboard produced water discharge, and is the best alternative, in terms of robust performance, system size, cost, safety and maintenance, to traditional carbon bed filtration and acid injection which are currently deployed
for removal of emulsified oils and water soluble organics(WSO) in produced water.
With the stringent water discharge requirements and the potential cost savings from recycle and reuse ofproduced water, oil and gas producers all over the world are aggressively implementing MyCelx Clean Water Technology in their produced water management and handling scheme.
MyCelx Clean Water Systems for Produced Water Treatment are currently used by onshore oil and gas operators Anadarko, EnCana, Williams, Hess and CNRL. MyCelx Clean Water Technology is currently being evaluated in Gulf of Mexico deepwater platforms with good initial results, and their Produced Water Treatment system was recently selected for Chevron’s Jack/St. Malo project.
Hari Parthasarathy, Manager of Applications Engineering for MyCelx, will present the latest field results from onshore and offshore produced water installations of MyCelx Clean Water Technology at OTC technical paper proceedings at the Thursday morning session, May 4(Paper No.1014) and at a press conference on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. MyCelx Produced Water unit will also be exhibited at Booth 6536 throughout the conference.
